Precious metalwork from the Renaissance to the present day

With the Silver Vault, the Maximilian Museum presents a fascinating exhibition of Augsburg and foreign works of precious metalwork from the Renaissance to the present day. Among them are silver objects from the legacy of the collector and patron Kurt Viermetz, who would have been 85 years old this year.

The exhibition continues the tradition of the famous warehouses of the Augsburg silver merchants, known as silver vaults, which were considered a major attraction of the imperial city in the 18th century.
