In a training center for medical professionals in Switzerland, experienced and prospective nurses and doctors practice how to deal with patients in difficult situations in the most empathetic way. Former patients and actors play the role of patients. In feedback discussions, the nurses and doctors reflect on their own reactions. But can sensitive and empathetic treatment even succeed in a healthcare system that is chronically overburdened and underfunded?
