Who owns the land? And who protects it? The Wet'suwet'en of northern Canada have never ceded their land and have ruled it sovereignly for centuries. However, this fact is ignored by the Canadian government and large fossil fuel companies who want to use the land to build environmentally damaging natural gas pipelines. The film documents the courageous struggle of the community, led by Freda Huson and Molly Wickham, to preserve their sacred land and protect our planet. This inspiring story of courage and resistance calls for climate justice and denounces the profit motive at the expense of indigenous sovereignty.
