Green is the color of the prophet, the color of hope and life. And green is also the color of the bicycle that ten-year-old Wadjda wants, a symbol of freedom.

In Wadjda's home country of Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive cars and girls are not allowed to use bicycles. However, a self-confident teenager like Wadjda doesn't think much of such laws. Nor does she take her mother's warning that she might not be able to have children from riding a bike seriously. She already has an idea of how to buy the bike...
