Timcheh is thrilled to announce the return of the Timcheh Music Festival with its second edition: TMF2023! Once again, we're bringing together contemporary Iranian and other international artists, partly living in the diaspora in Europe and beyond. The festival is dedicated to  showcasing various genres within the spectrum of experimental electronic sounds. Our curated program features a music workshop, an art exhibition, live concerts, and DJ sets, creating a vibrant experience. 

To uphold our community spirit, we've teamed up with artists from our previous edition to shape this year's lineup. These contributors include ArtSaves, Jessica Ekomane, Peter Kirn, and Monibi, all adding to the artistic vision of Timcheh. We're also thrilled that Kambiz Kia, an established player in Tehran's underground scene, co-curates our club night with Monibi.

Friday (01.12.) and Saturday (02.12.) will be packed with 13 musical performances, live concerts and DJ sets, and the festival will wrap up with a club night.

This year we complement the festival with new formats on Thursday (30.11.) with a workshop and a VR exhibition: 

Embodied AI workshop (Peter Kirn): Unlock the creative potential of AI in music and art during this workshop. Learn about neural networks, train models with your own data for art and sound, and embody machine learning for expressive interfaces. Discover decentralized, alternative approaches to machine learning and gain insights for understanding its applications.

VR Exhibition: Loophole (XOR Space X Timcheh): "Loophole" challenges the dominance of automated, profit-driven art and culture in the digital age. This virtual reality exhibition explores digital art's potential to break free from this closed system, drawing inspiration from diverse cosmologies and knowledge systems. Artists from various backgrounds collaborate to create interactive ecosystems that reimagine digital presence and challenge tech giant hegemony, fostering transformative actions. Join us in this thought-provoking exhibition to explore new frontiers in digital art and culture

If you have a disability you can take an accompanying person with you free of charge.

Wir freuen uns sehr, die zweite Ausgabe anzukündigen: Das Timcheh Music Festival ist zurück! Wieder bringen wir zeitgenössische iranische und andere internationale Künstler*innen – teilweise aus der Diaspora in Europa und darüber hinaus –  in Köln zusammen. Das Festival präsentiert verschiedene Genres aus dem Spektrum der experimentellen elektronischen Klänge. Unser Programm umfasst einen Workshop, eine Kunstausstellung, Live-Konzerte und DJ-Sets.

Um unsere Community weiter zu verbinden, arbeiten wir mit Künstler*innen der letzten Ausgabe zusammen, um das diesjährige Lineup zu kuratieren und zur künstlerischen Vision von Timcheh beizutragen. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Peter Kirn, Artsaves, Jessica Ekomane und Monibi damit wieder dabei sind. Und über Kambiz Kia, eine etablierte Größe der Teheraner Underground-Clubszene, der unsere Clubnacht zusammen mit Monibi kuratiert.

Freitag und Samstag präsentieren wir 13 Musik-Performances, Live-Konzerte und DJ Sets. Das Festival endet am Samstag mit einer Clubnacht.

Diesmal ergänzen wir das Festival am Donnerstag mit neuen Formaten; einem Workshop und einer VR-Exhibition:

Embodied AI Workshop (by Peter Kirn): In diesem Workshop kann das kreative Potenzial von KI in Musik und Kunst erforscht werden. Ihr erfahrt mehr über neuronale Netze, trainiert Modelle mit eigenen Daten für Kunst und Klang und setzt maschinelles Lernen für verschiedene Interfaces ein. 

Für den Workshop ist eine Anmeldung erforderlich, der Eintritt ist nicht im Festivalticket inbegriffen. Eintritt ab 10€+ auf Spendenbasis..

VR Exhibition: Loophole (präsentiert von XOR Space X Timcheh): 'Loophole’ stellt die Dominanz der automatisierten, gewinnorientierten Kunst und Kultur im digitalen Zeitalter in Frage. Diese Virtual-Reality-Ausstellung erforscht das Potenzial der digitalen Kunst, aus diesem geschlossenen System auszubrechen, und lässt sich dabei von verschiedenen Kosmologien und Wissenssystemen inspirieren. Künstler*innen mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund arbeiten zusammen, um interaktive Ökosysteme zu schaffen, die die digitale Präsenz neu definieren, um die Hegemonie der Tech-Giganten in Frage zu stellen und transformative Handlungen zu fördern. Erkundet mit uns neue Grenzen der digitalen Kunst und Kultur in dieser zum Nachdenken anregenden Ausstellung.
