Summit meeting of the prog rock cult bands MAN & Guru Guru!
MAN "The Legendary Progrockband From Wales". The band around singing bassist Martin Ace, guitarist Micky Jones & drummer Terry Williams (later Dire Straits) was one of the co-founders of progressive rock with Pink Floyd in 1968. By constantly coming up with new ideas, this formation demonstrated how to add a further psychedelic dimension to the "beat". MAN also proved that gradually unfolding 20-minute works can be based on solid song structures and do not stretch them out, but bring them out intensively. Great numbers like "Romain", "Many Are Called But Few Get Up" or "Bananas" are still captivating today - and don't need to hide behind Pink Floyd's "Meddle" or "Welcome To The Machine". Today, MAN men from two generations are on stage, injecting fresh virtuosity into the spirit and repertoire of the band while maintaining their composure. The original members Martin Ace & Malcolm Morley brought Martin's son Josh into the line-up and alongside drummer Shane Dixon, guitarist James Beck plays and sings. If the last album "Reanimated Memories" is anything to go by, MAN have never been better.

GURU GURU "Madness for the whole family!" Drum legend Mani Neumeier and his band GURU GURU have been active since 1968 and still have no less fun pushing boundaries today than they did in the heyday of the student protests of the late 60s and 70s, when songs took on a new dimension through extended improvisations. Musically, the "Gurus" have always belonged to the avant-garde, and their concerts are as experimental and unpredictable as their albums. With former Birth Control keyboardist Zeus B. Held, the typical Guru Guru sound has been expanded to include a new dimension. Guru Guru concerts develop into veritable surprise eggs, carried by the virtuosity of Mani Neumeier on drums, Peter Kühmstedt's precision on bass & the joy of playing of multi-instrumentalist Roland Schaeffer on guitar, saxophone and the Indian Nadaswaram.
