Achim Goetze

In the artist's words:

Achim Goetze received his artistic training in his native city of Hamburg and in Kiel. Through temporary cultural reportage work, he met creative and fascinating people such as Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Graham and Willy Brandt, and developed a project with Felix von Eckardt, the then head of the German press. All of this awakened an interest in social and political areas of tension and sharpened his eye for accentuated perception and realization. This theme would later have a decisive influence on his artistic work. Since 1980, he has produced several cycles of paintings with religious, social and political themes - including landscapes. His paintings are represented at various exhibitions and are the subject of lively discussion at dialog events. They are in both public and private ownership.
