Born in Havana (Cuba), flutist Alberto Rosas Llerena completed his secondary musical education in 2008 as a pupil of Alberto Corrales Subida and then studied with Niurka González Núñez at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana. In 2023 he completed his master's degree in transverse flute and instrumental pedagogy at the HfKM Regensburg with Gabriella Damkier; in 2025 he completed a second master's degree in transverse flute with Marion Treupel-Franck. He is a prizewinner of the UNEAC woodwind competition and won second prize at the "Flutissimo" competition in Nice in 2020. He made his solo debut at the age of ten.
Rosas enjoys a successful international concert career; engagements have taken him all over Germany (with a focus on Bavaria) as well as to France, Spain and Brazil. A particular focus is on chamber music: he is active and present on the scene with his own ensembles and projects. His repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary; he performs both chamber music and symphonies and has appeared as a soloist with several Cuban symphony orchestras. In addition to the modern transverse flute, he is proficient on the baroque flute as well as other historical and modern flute instruments. He collaborates with renowned ensembles and artists from the Cuban music scene.
