Alexandra Zykunov, born in 1985, is a SPIEGEL bestselling author, journalist, publisher, speaker and editor for feminist and social issues at BRIGITTE.

Her first non-fiction book, "Wir sind doch alle längst gleichberechtigt!" was published by Ullstein on February 24, 2022, remained on the SPIEGEL bestseller list for more than six months and has sold more than 50,000 copies to date. On November 30, 2023, she followed up with her second non-fiction book "Was wollt ihr denn noch alles? At the end of 2023, together with bestselling author Emilia Roig and Silvie Horch, she also published the highly acclaimed follow-up essay collection "Unlearn Patriarchy 2", which describes in 13 honest essays how we can recognize and "unlearn" the patriarchal patterns anchored in all of us.

As alexandra___z, the author is a high-reach voice on Instagram with more than 65,000 followers, and her texts on the invisibility of women's and family policy issues regularly go viral.

For more than three years now, Alexandra Zykunov has regularly been on reading tours, sits on panels and gives keynotes on gender equality topics at parliamentary evenings, in ministries or in companies such as SAP, Axa Germany, Bosch, E.ON, Johnson Johnson, ADAC, the savings banks and many more.

In 2021, together with the non-profit "Proparents Initiative", she co-initiated the media campaign "Equal Rights for Parents" against discrimination against mothers in the workplace and for the inclusion of parenthood in the German Anti-Discrimination Act. Some of the demands were subsequently incorporated into the coalition agreement of the current federal government.

Not much has happened politically since then. Rather the opposite.
