Alice Dee

Alice Dee is a non-binary Berlin-based MC and rapper* who has been shaping the Berlin hip-hop scene since the mid-2010s with their political lyrics and experimental sound. Originally born in Hanau and raised in southern Germany, Alice found their artistic home in Berlin, a place that creates space for unconventional voices.

Through their music, Alice Dee intensively addresses social injustices, racism, sexism, queerphobia, and their own non-binary identity. For Alice, rap is more than just music: They describe it as their “weapon for survival,” an outlet for self-expression and a way to build a community for people who don’t feel like they belong anywhere.

Alice began their career as a live MC in Berlin’s alternative scene—in housing projects, at cyphers, and at demonstrations. With the EPs *Wildstyles* (2019), *Double Check* (2021), and *Komm* (2022), Alice showcases an artistic evolution that blends grime, trap, and drill with political lyrics. In doing so, Alice proves that complex topics and a good vibe don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Beyond her music, Alice is involved in street outreach and leads rap workshops for young people. Through the Sisterqueensproject ,in collaboration with female rappers such as Ebow and Sister Fa, Alice specifically promotes female and queer talent in German rap. Alice also wrote the rap tracks for the soundtrack of the ZDFneo series *Becoming Charlie* (2024).

Alice Dee embodies an authentic, political form of hip-hop that transcends boundaries and gives a voice to those who have long been overlooked.
