6-, 8- and 10-string guitars

Andreas Heuser is a wanderer between musical worlds.

"Guitarist reaches across all genres" (WAZ Dortmund).

His solo guitar program combines classical, jazz and world music in an exciting and varied way.

He studied classical guitar (with Prof. Werner Kämmerling), jazz guitar (with Thomas Brill and Frank Gerstmeier) and violin (second subject with Prof. Csaba Bokay) at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Detmold, Dortmund Institute.

Andreas Heuser has worked intensively with various styles of non-European music (especially Middle Eastern and Oriental music). Since 2003, he has led the intercultural world music big band "Transorient Orchestra" (WDR Jazz Prize winner 2017).

These diverse musical experiences shape his compositions and playing technique and enable him to effortlessly combine a wide variety of timbres and expressive possibilities into a coherent overall picture.

A clear classical guitar tone, impressionistic-romantic sounds, imitations of non-European stringed instruments, jazz chords, minimal music, oriental rhythms - all this and much more finds a place in his musical cosmos.

The extended range of the 8- and 10-string guitars and the silvery sound of the requinto (quarto guitar) open up additional compositional and technical possibilities, which Andreas Heuser knows how to use skillfully.
