Anja Ernsberger is a freelance painter and artist with the label AE'89, whose works are characterized by a strong emotional presence, intense colours and a special thematic depth.

Style & subject matter

In her acrylic works on canvas, Anja Ernsberger combines intuitive painting with figurative elements, often using spray and pastel chalks. Her works address themes such as identity, communication and the invisible connections between people - for example in series such as "Heads & Hands", in which hand gestures and glances act as a non-verbal bridge. Her series "Playground" is also dedicated to the perception of a neurodivergent childhood and reflects on mother-son relationships, changes in perspective and inclusive vision.

Background & Exhibitions

Originally based in the Black Forest (Gengenbach), Anja Ernsberger works from there and regularly shows her work at art fairs and exhibitions - for example at ART MUC in Munich. She does not see art as a fixed answer, but as a dialog: "My art is not the answer. It is the dialog."
