Arny Margret

The young Icelandic artist Arny Margret stands for modern folk, indie and an introspective style, characterized by a very emotional and personal approach. In addition to her fragile and touching vocals, her sometimes rich but often intimate instrumentation is moving, reinforcing the depth of self-reflection and existentialism in her songs.

Arny Margret has made waves with her first performances not only in her native Iceland, but throughout Europe and the US, touring extensively and supporting Passenger, Ry X, Leif Vollebekk, Blake Mills and Ásgeir, among others. She has also played many major festivals such as SXSW, The Great Escape, Newport Folk Festival, Eurosonic and Iceland Airwaves. Arny was nominated for Newcomer of the Year at the 2022 Icelandic Music Awards, where she was nominated for Song, Album and Video in 2023 and ended up winning Song of the Year.
