Atze Schröder - cult figure with attitude

Atze Schröder is one of Germany's best-known comedy characters. Since the 1990s, he has been impersonated by comedian Hubertus Albers, who deliberately hides behind the fictional character. With his distinctive mini-pli hairstyle, mirrored aviator glasses and the outfit of a self-confident Ruhrpott maker, Atze stands for typical redneck humor like no other - direct, loud but charming.

His big breakthrough came with the RTL series Alles Atze (2000-2007), in which he played a kiosk owner with heart, snark and straight talk. The series won several awards and is still a cult hit today.

But behind the blustering stage character lies a reflective, committed person. In his private life, the comedian is vegan, campaigns for environmental and animal protection and is involved in initiatives such as Veganuary. At the same time, he consistently protects his private life - his real name is not officially known and he has repeatedly defended himself legally against its publication.

Atze also shows a thoughtful side in podcasts such as Zärtliche Cousinen. Together with his friend Till Hoheneder, he talks openly about topics such as friendship, loneliness and mental health - often with a wink, but always with depth.

Atze Schröder has long been more than just a comedian. He combines biting humor with social attitude and proves that entertainment can also show attitude - without losing the wit.
