The "LADIES FIRST" exhibition presents works by two artists who, with their exciting mix of color, form and movement, provide a stage for powerful and self-confident women on the Elbchaussee. While Heike Schümann specializes in figurative representation in an abstract style, Carola X Matthes is concerned with female emotions.
Heike Schü mann draws her inspiration from modeling sessions. She captures the essence of the moment directly and transforms it into powerful, dynamic images. Her approach is experimental and lively, which is reflected in her female motifs as well as in her maritime paintings. This can be experienced in the Nordic-fresh sailing paintings with their interplay of wind and waves.
Carola X Matthes inspires with her expressive portraits of women, which she creates in bold colors with intense brushstrokes on striking structures. Her works reflect emotion and authenticity. These first-class ladies' paintings invite viewers to be moved by their emotional call for freedom.
The "LADIES FIRST" exhibition brings a breath of fresh air not only to the Elbe, but also to the perception of images of women.
