Ava Vegas: Glamor, melancholy and a sound from another time

Ava Vegas - the name says it all. Las Vegas, Ava Gardner, Sinatra, Hollywood. You know as soon as you hear those two words: This is no ordinary pop artist. The Berlin native makes music that feels like an old black and white movie, only with more smeared eye shadow and a proper beat.

Ava Vegas' sound is a wild, beautiful mix: art pop meets pop trash, electro vibe meets 60s girl group beat. And her unmistakable voice towers above it all. Comparisons to Lana Del Rey and art-pop icon Nico are not far-fetched, but above all Ava Vegas sounds like herself. From "Desert Songs" to "Everything Got Too Sci-Fi To Be Disco"

Her first album in 2020, which bears her own name "Ava Vegas", was followed 3 years later by the album "Desert Songs": desert-wide sounds, lyrics like diary entries from a bygone world (both are still available on vinyl and CD). In 2025, she followed up with her EP "Everything Got Too Sci-Fi To Be Disco" and surprised us with dancefloor-ready beats that we had never heard before. The opener "Memphis" is the perfect introduction.

Fun fact: A guitar from the esoteric store

Ava Vegas learned to play the guitar completely self-taught. The trigger: a guitar in a small esoteric store that she felt a spiritual connection to when she looked inside. She bought it, taught herself to play and wrote her first songs on it. That's how legends begin. Ava Vegas has also performed at international showcases such as SXSW in Austin and Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) - so the international music scene has long had her on its radar.
