Babak Saed, *1965 Mashhad (IRN), lives in Bonn

Babak Saed's theme is communication. He uses language as a pictorial motif and thus ties in with Western conceptual art and the tradition of written advertising. At the same time, his origins in Iran play an important role: traditional Islamic art is characterized by the artistic ornamentalization of writing. Saed visualizes philosophical and social issues with maximum linguistic reduction and ambivalent formulations - intelligent and playful at the same time.
