Bahram Moradi

In the artist's words:

*1960 in Broujerd, Iran, has lived as a writer and critic in Berlin since 1994. In the 1970s, he began working in the theater as an actor, playwright and director. In the mid-1980s, he fled Iran because he was not allowed to continue his artistic work due to his critical stance. In Germany, Moradi began to write short stories and novels. So far, he has published five books in Persian: "The Weight of Others" (Alqesseh Verlag, U.S.A. 2021); "The Vigilant" (Mehri Verlag, London 2020); "The Man Under the Tree Across the Street" (Caravan Verlag, Tehran 2005/London 2019) and "Laughter in the House of Loneliness" (Akhtaran Verlag, Tehran 2002/London 2019). He celebrated his book premiere in Germany in 2025 with the German translation of "Das Gewicht der Anderen" (Wallstein Verlag). He has received several awards for his work and was awarded the Chamisso Publication Scholarship in October 2025.
