Beirut

In the artist's words:

Beirut, the long-running project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon, combines indie folk, orchestral pop and global influences to create an unmistakably timeless and intimate sound. Since his acclaimed debut "Gulag Orkestar" (2006), Condon has been creating multi-layered soundscapes characterized by wanderlust and self-reflection that have found a loyal audience worldwide.

With "Hadsel" (2023), recorded on a remote Norwegian island, Condon opened a new atmospheric chapter. Now comes "A Study of Losses" (2025), an impressive 18-track work commissioned by the Swedish ensemble Kompani Giraff and inspired by Judith Schalansky's "An Inventory of Losses". The album is dedicated to the themes of transience, preservation and the fragile beauty of memory and expands Beirut's palette to include choral, ambient and early music elements - without losing sight of Condon's characteristic melodic warmth.

With "A Study of Losses" in the bag, Beirut is now going on tour again and will also be coming to Germany for three dates.
