The band from Austria is much more than just "Maschin" - it's a total work of art made up of funky guitar riffs, quirky lyrics and a sense of style that hovers somewhere between David Bowie, Falco and your favorite vintage boutique.

Who are Bilderbuch anyway?

Bilderbuch was founded in Kremsmünster in 2005 - and yes, you read that right: They have been shaking up the German-language music scene for almost 20 years. But don't worry, nothing sounds old-fashioned here. With frontman Maurice Ernst at the helm, every new release is a little firework display of style. Somewhere between pop, rock, hip-hop and future funk - Bilderbuch are in a league of their own.

Their new album Softpower is further proof that Bilderbuch cannot be restricted musically. The songs are smooth, electronic soundscapes, peppered with funky riffs, playful synths and Maurice's unmistakable voice. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes playful, sometimes provocative.
