After a two-year break, the six musicians from Black Country, New Road are back with a new album (their third studio album) and have announced a European tour in the fall. Germany will be represented with three dates and, as expected, there will be a huge run on tickets.
Since their Mercury Prize-nominated debut "For The First Time", which covered everything from jazz to klezmer to post-rock, to their art-rock meets chamber-pop follow-up "Ants From Up There", which was internationally acclaimed by the press and also landed in the Top 5 in England, the band from Cambridge has reinvented itself time and again. And after their then frontman Isaac had to pull out shortly afterwards due to ill health, they simply wrote a completely new set of songs, split the vocals between them, went on tour with them and recorded the result as "Live at Bush Hall".
So now the latest twist with their third studio album "Forever Howlong" (Ninja Tune), musically even more refined and advanced, with Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw on vocals, and a lyrically conciliatory undertone in these trying times.
