Blaucrowd Surfer

In the artist's words:

After the 2017 debut album "Hallo schöne Welt" and the 2019 EP "Weg vom Frust", the "Blaucrowd Surfer" were finally back in the studio in 2023. The resulting 7-track EP "Kommen und Gehen" will be released and presented over the summer of 2024, following the release of the first single "Zuhause" in July 2023.

"Zuhause" already gives a good idea of the band's future stylistic direction: The German-language lyrics come across as very direct and without a lot of "drum-rum-talk", which is underlined musically by the straightforward, driving arrangements:
Listeners* can expect melodies that stay in their ears, whether they reach them through Nico's characteristic, raspy voice or via the thick brass sections. These are underpinned by a solid foundation of drums, bass and electric guitars, which can also take a step back from time to time to know exactly when full throttle is required again.

The German-language lyrics deal with the current problems of our time and the question of why these problems have been current for ages. In addition to environmental destruction, populism and climate change, the beautiful moments that are irreplaceable as a counterbalance are also highlighted.
