Blendend are electro in the head with skills for funk and a will to drum & bass, to ignore charts, to storm stages. Faith warriors - all or nothing.
Handmade club sound with a penchant for house. The groundbreaking lyrics by singer Wilhelm Friedrich von und zu Hohen Neukölln captivate with their poetry of clear simplicity. His concise, condensed language is everyday life and deals with the simple things between you and me, us and the world. Direct and on the pulse of time. Earth-shattering.
Blendend first caused a stir in 2014 with the vinyl single "NeidA". The title track, with its profound social criticism and housey beats, was accompanied by a video shot live and unadulterated in front of Neukölln apartment doors. With the video, the band almost prophetically anticipated the current debates about expropriation and rent madness: youtu.be/U9XbJAwAfvI
A video from the Fête de la Musique shows that the band works perfectly as electro street musicians even without a big stage: youtu.be/jMfiuMAG2Go
Wilhelm Friedrich von und zu Hohen Neukölln earned his musical accolade under the name Willie Ocean as frontman of Berlin ska legends The Special Guests. Guitarist Christoph Becker also comes from there. His musical CV is also adorned with such fantastic stations as Wood In Di Fire, Engine54 and temporary jobs with Roy Ellis and The Skatalites. He is also on the road as solo singer-songwriter Becker. Drummer Daniel Weist is not only a good drummer, he can also play the cajon.
