In the artist's words:

The Bremer RathsChor is a large oratorio choir that performed for the first time at the end of 2008.

Antonius Adamske took over the artistic direction in 2020, which was held by Jan Hübner until the end of 2019. He took over after the death of Wolfgang Helbich in 2013, the first choirmaster of the RathsChoir and former cathedral cantor.

The choir performs in Bremen, in the region and also on concert tours
internationally and has a broad repertoire of secular and sacred vocal music. This includes the great Bach works, oratorios by Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, requiems by Verdi, Mozart and Brahms. Baroque and contemporary choral works by Lully, Charpentier, Rameau, Rutter, Lauridsen and Gjeilo were also on his concert programs. Experimental and interdisciplinary formats were also included.

With its concert tours, the Bremer RathsChor has repeatedly placed itself at the service of reconciliation, international understanding and peace.
Since 2009, it has given concerts in Gdansk, Lidice, Riga and Sarajevo to mark various commemorations.
Since 2016, the choir, initiated by Marieluise Beck and the Ukrainian pianist
Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, has been cultivating the "Musical Partnership Bremen - Odessa". Together with Odessa musicians, the choir has performed in Odessa, Chernivtsi and Bremen and provided the musical framework for memorial services for victims of pogroms against Ukrainian Jews.

The choir is supported by the non-profit association Bremer RathsChor e.V.
