Brother Ali is an American rapper, community activist and member of the hip-hop collective Rhymesayers Entertainment. His career spans over two decades and includes eight critically acclaimed albums, mentorships with legendary hip-hop greats such as Chuck D and Rakim, and appearances on late-night shows with Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien.
His simultaneously provocative and inspiring hip-hop brought him coveted features, such as in the 40th anniversary issue of Rolling Stone and in the legendary "Hip Hop Quotables" section of Source Magazine. At the same time, his clear stance on social justice even landed him on government watch lists. He has also lectured at universities such as Princeton and Stanford and was a keynote speaker at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum.
When he's not rocking the stage at festivals like Coachella or getting arrested for civil disobedience in support of marginalized groups, Brother Ali travels the world to learn and teach Islamic spirituality under renowned Muslim scholars. In addition to leading prayers and classes across the country, he co-founded the Gemali Project - an organization that helps converts and spiritual seekers access the beauty of the Islamic tradition.
