Capella Sanctae Crucis Dresden

Behind this time-honored name is now an ensemble of professional singers and instrumentalists on historical instruments, mainly from Dresden and the surrounding area, who, under the direction of cross organist Holger Gehring, want to dedicate themselves to the performance of early music from Dresden and Central Germany in historically informed music-making practice. The instrumentation will be determined by the requirements of the compositions performed.

For a number of years now, a more or less permanent group of musicians has been heard at the vespers in the Kreuzkirche, who now want to come together to form a more permanent ensemble, from a number of singers associated with the Kreuzkirche to the instrumentalists of the Kreuzkirche Dresden Baroque Orchestra, which has been in existence for many years.
