Caroline Simon

In the artist's words:

Caroline Simon is a dancer and dance teacher with a focus on improvisation, trained in Belgium and the Netherlands. She has lived and worked in Cologne since 2001. Her 2008 solo was nominated for "Best Female Performer" at the Dublin Fringe Festival and toured Europe until 2024. She has been a permanent member of the Silke Z. resistdance company since 2009 and won the Cologne Performers' Award in 2014.

She is co-founder of the European studiotrade network and founder and, together with Silke Z., director of ehrenfeldstudios e.V. in Cologne. Her artistic focus is on making dance improvisation visible. Between 2020 and 2023 she curated the SOFORT Improvisation Days and developed her own improvisation solos such as MOMENTOLOGY and One moment, please. She is currently working on building an international network for dance improvisation.
