Cat Power

Cat Power, whose real name is Chan Marshall, began her music career in the New York indie scene in the 1990s. Her debut album Dear Sir was released in 1995 and made her famous with its raw and minimalist style. With later releases such as Moon Pix (1998), which was recorded in Australia and inspired by personal crises, and The Greatest (2006), an album with Southern soul influences, she consolidated her reputation as a versatile artist.

In addition to her own compositions, Marshall has also gained international recognition with cover albums such as Jukebox (2008) and Covers (2022), in which she reinterprets classics from various genres. Her music combines elements of folk, blues, soul and rock, often with introspective lyrics and unusual arrangements. Over the course of her career, she has worked with renowned producers and musicians and has been praised for her innovative approach in the singer-songwriter tradition.

Cat Power's latest release is the album Sings Bob Dylan, released in 2023. On this record, she reinterprets songs by Bob Dylan, using her signature style to add a personal touch to the works.
