In the artist's words:

We are Cirkle TwentyTwo, an Indie-Rock Band from Hamburg, Germany.

Founded in late 2022 as a small band project we soon noticed that we wanted our music to be heard by more than just the thick walls of our practise room. Our first single "Last Call for a Burning Star" released in August 2024 and our second single "Worst Enemy" in December 2024. Our latest single "Excuse Me, Miss!" was released in March 2025.

The inspirations for the songs surge from the daily life struggles and psychological wonders of songwriter Lars Kanyarukiga. Working in "real life" as a teacher and therapist with struggeling students in the tuff neighboorhood of Hamburg -Wilhelmsburg, he learned a lot about the dark sides of human kind. The mix of these experiences with his own lifestories produce the unique sound of Cirkle TwentyTwo.

But why the name Cirkle TwentyTwo you might ask. The name is based on a weather phenomenon called Parhelion, where it seems as if three suns appear in the sky at the same time. These suns are twenty-two degrees apart from each other and they stand for the three band members, Lars Kanyarukiga (singing, guitar, songwriting), Niels Thode (bass) and Peer F. Stolle (drums).
