Longing is probably the oldest motif in CONNY's lyrics: whether it is a longing for distant lands and new adventures or the longing for a love that outlasts the moment of the first kiss - CONNY's voice always resonates with a sadness that conveys to the listener the image of a thoughtful and at times lonely character. Since he has been on the road as a solo artist, his music has become much more serious.

As an avowed feminist, CONNY's lyrics deal with gender roles, masculinity, criticism of capitalism and life in a system built on all these pillars. He speaks both as an outside observer and denounces, but often also deliberately chooses a very personal and private perspective and lets the listeners share in his feelings.
