With Valentine, Courtney Marie Andrews presents her most personal and experimental album to date. Created in a phase of partings, new beginnings and deep emotional upheavals, it tells of the search for genuine, grown love - beyond empty gestures and superficial romance.

Produced together with Jerry Bernhardt and recorded almost entirely live on tape, Valentine is characterized by immediate energy rather than perfection. The songs are both vulnerable and powerful, carried by Andrews' unmistakable voice, which finds a new depth and determination here. Musically, she builds bridges between folk, Americana and pop, inspired by greats such as Fleetwood Mac or Big Star, and expands the sound with flute, organ, synthesizer and multi-layered harmonies.

The lyrics move between sadness, doubt and hope - born out of personal crises, but always with the will to draw strength from the pain suffered. Songs such as "Everyone Wants to Feel Like You Do" or "Cons and Clowns" combine a clear attitude with melody and lightness, while pieces such as "Little Picture of a Butterfly" or "Hangman" reveal the artist's vulnerable side.

Courtney Marie Andrews remains true to her claim: each record should stand on its own and break new ground. Valentine is her most mature work - an album full of courage, beauty and humanity.
