In the artist's words:

David Berlinghof, born on New Year's Day 1991 in Illertissen, is a Bavarian-Swabian musician, cabaret artist and humorous sound artist.

After an enormously exciting childhood and youth in the south, he moved to Thuringia for about five years, where he studied music in Weimar. There he was particularly fascinated by the contrasts between the Klassikstiftung and the Rostbratbude, between Goethe in front of the DNT and Gerda from bus route two - all in a very confined space. Not least because of this, his final concert at the conservatory was more like a musical cabaret program.

After graduating, he spent two pandemic years in Unterallgäu, during which Berlinghof invented the contactless humorous sound artwork Lachwald, which has been a permanent fixture at the Munich Forum Humor humor festival in Bernried on Lake Starnberg since 2021. Other humorous works of sound art followed, including the "Ulm Laughing Wall" and the "Sequential Comic Composition" for Rudi Hurzlmeier's exhibition "The Wide Field of Unreason" at the Buchheim Museum of Fantasy in summer 2022. Parallel to the sound art, Berlinghof presented his first music cabaret program "Nix Bsondrs! A counter-draft to high culture". His second solo program, "Wohlfühlprogramm", was released in 2024.
