Dina Bolshakova was born in Tomsk, Russia. She received her first cello lessons at a music school in 1992 and studied at the St. Petersburg Music College from 2001 to 2005.

Dina continued her studies at the UdK Berlin, first with Prof. Catalin Ilea and since 2008 with Prof. Konstantin Heidrich. In February 2014, she completed her concert exam with distinction.
