Dina Summer

In the artist's words:

Dina Summer is a collaborative project between the Greek-German dark disco duo Local Suicide and the Bavarian producer Kalipo, known for his work with the notorious electro-punk band Frittenbude.

The supergroup began working on music together in 2019 and has been refining their shared sound ever since. It’s a unique blend of their influences, drawing from ’80s Italo disco, new wave, EBM, and early ’00s electroclash, resulting in a darkretrofuturistic synth/wave pop sound characterized by club-ready basslines, epic melodic hooks, and lyrics ranging from Dadaist abstractions to empowering, thought-provoking themes.

With their second album, *Girls Gang*, released earlier this year, the trio expands their sonic range to include elements of new wave, post-punk, and synth-pop. Their earlier work includes the critically acclaimed 2022 debut album *Rimini*, rooted in retro-disco nostalgia, as well as the EPs *Who Am I* (2021) and *Hide & Seek* (2024).

Along the way, they’ve contributed to Curses’ *Next Wave Acid Punx* compilation and participated in Purple Mag x Radiooooo’s *2070* project as well as the Reeperbahn Festival’s Collide Sessions.

With millions of streams and global radio airplay, Dina Summer’s music has secured spots on numerous curated Spotify and Apple Music playlists and has been supported by DJs such as Charlotte De Witte, The Hacker, Âme, Dixon, Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Joyce Muniz, and Dubfire.

Her releases have been praised by major publications such as RA, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Groove, Spiegel Online, Rolling Stone, Musikexpress, Tsugi, ELLE, Penthouse, and FAZE, with the latter naming her one of the most promising German newcomers on the electronic music scene. Since their formation, Dina Summer has been filling concert halls and headlining festivals across Europe with their critically acclaimed live show.
