El Flecha Negra combine traditional cumbia and reggae with modern mestizo and Peruvian chicha sounds - wild, exuberant and danceable through and through. Trumpets, traditional flutes, psychedelic chicha guitar and drums: the sound is a concentrated load of positive vibes that goes straight to the heart. Why El Flecha Negra sing in Spanish

Although El Flecha Negra spend their everyday lives in Germany, they consistently sing in Spanish. They have considered singing in German, but as band member Kata explains in an interview with Ox Fanzine: "It's rather difficult to combine that with the music." And the audience? They understand the energy even without translation. Sometimes people stand there like statues, but end up cheering, says Kata. You can't tell by looking at them, but they like it.

From "Schwarzwald" to "Amor Antiguo": the discography

Fun fact: Their debut album from 2015 is called "Schwarzwald" (Black Forest ) - a musical declaration of love to their adopted home of Freiburg. This was followed by "Tropikal Passport " (2017) with the fan favorite "Freiburg Girl" and "Renacer " (2022), which means "to be reborn" in Spanish. The new single "Amor Antiguo "(Spotify) was released in February 2026: warm, rhythmic, irresistible.
