Between moving boxes and fairy lights, Elaj from Heidelberg writes songs in his 13sqm shared room. From a duo project, a band has now formed around songwriter Elaj, who gets the stage and all the hips in the room shaking. At the forefront of Elaj's music is a duet of guitar melodies and vocals that winds its way around prickly questions of queer identity and hearts in all states of aggregation. The band's warm and rhythmic sound is unleashed in dynamic live sets: bouncy, full of guitars and emotionally charged.
Elaj's debut EP "Zaubern" was released on 14.11.25 - five songs that could hardly be more different and yet follow the same inner compass: sometimes melancholic with cello, sometimes stirred up by electric guitar riffs, but always radically open and disarmingly honest.
Elaj is part of the 13th generation of Bandsupport Mannheim, was on stage at this year's Maifeld Derby and has already played as support for Ceci, LIN and Juli Gilde.
