EUROTHUG - Live

"Crime on the border with France is often international," says Eurothug. Just like pre-trial detention and its inmates, of which he was one for six months in 2017. Then the acquittal - innocent. The vest remains white.

This experience shapes him as a person; the density of US barracks in the area, where southern rap is more widespread than in the rest of the republic, shapes him as a rapper. These influences cannot be ignored - in terms of production, content and technique. The debut Elm Street bears witness to this in a gloomy manner.

But it was a long way until Eurothug stood at the mic in a professional studio for the first time in 2022 and recorded Elm Street. When these first studio sessions gave an idea of where the journey could take him, it was the influences of the time that allowed Eurothug to create his own Deutschrap reality, which also gave New Wave a completely new point of perspective. And it is his environment that brings him together with BeatsbyA from the BrokeBoys, among others, who has acted as co-producer and mixer on every one of his tracks to date - a heartfelt wish of the artist that comes true early on.

He himself remained skeptical for a long time as to whether rap could really be a perspective. But as it says in Elm Street: "Live in the dark, the sun not far and I'm running" - sounds like Eurothug has changed his mind in the meantime.

After Elm Street, Eurothug released the Accermann EP, on which he deals intensively with his origins - growing up in a working-class family, characterized by hard work and an equally hard reality. With the Reich Ohne Banken EP, produced by Funkvater Frank, he opens a new chapter: reduced in sound, focused in content, raw and uncompromising. Eurothug is currently working on his next project, which will feature OG Keemo, among others.
