Flup-pe /Flúppe/ noun/v, feminine [die] is colloquial for cigarette. It is therefore an almost cute-sounding word for a not entirely harmless thing. Here and there, a disgruntled facial expression is also referred to as a fag. Both descriptions fit the sound of the post-punk band pretty well. fluppe come from Hamburg and also have a soft spot for pop and shoegaze. Former Intro boss Daniel Koch (Musikexpress, Diffus, among others) writes: "(...) musically, these mangy-poetic post-punk bands like shame, Protomartyr or IDLES come to mind." If you combine this with the attitude and skepticism towards existing conditions typical of the Hamburg School, you have roughly the coordinates. That's all you need.

fluppe will be supported by the shoegaze duo Garlands: Catharina (vocals, guitar, synthesizer / Berlin) and Sui (vocals, bass, flute / Hamburg). Their sound is reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth, with hints of kraut and psychedelic. Garlands question outdated narratives of rockism and ageism. At their live shows, they form a wall of sound together with two fellow musicians. After their release "Turn the Sky" in 2024, they are currently working on their new album.
