In the artist's words:

No decoration for over the sofa

Since 1995, artist Sandra Eisenbarth has created and exhibited numerous emotional paintings in which the viewer finds themselves confronted with themes such as common ideals of beauty, relationships, the use of social media, corona and war. The often sketchy appearance of the depictions and the intuitive painting with the hands out of an inner necessity lead to the abstract and create a special dynamic. Her upcycling art is a particular trademark. Sandra Eisenbarth uses old packaging material, such as cardboard boxes or plastic tarpaulins, for her works.

Most recently, she explored the theme of "hate and exclusion". She had the well-known photos of the truck transport of Siegburg Jews from Brandstrasse in July 1942 printed on a tarpaulin background. For "Today", she painted current motifs showing racism over this lower layer. The third element, the bridge between the worlds, is formed by the screaming mob, the roaring, cheering Nazis - then as now. At the same time, she wants to place hope in the foreground. The foreground is dominated by the lettering "A little peace" by Nicole and Article 1 of the Basic Law.

In 2022-2024, she created paintings in a neo-surrealist style, in which she used mythical creatures to transform contemporary themes in a caricature-like manner into the grotesque-looking "habitual animals" that satirize the patterns of our everyday lives.

Sandra Eisenbarth reflects personal, social and political themes in her paintings. Humanized animals in housework, in habits, in fairy tales or in learned situations, such as the "Energy Deficient Rabbit" based on the Duracell bunny and the energy deficiency situation, the "Seeing Cow" or the "Noah's Ark 2023".
