In the artist's words:

Gerhard has been on the road as a cycling travel journalist for many years, realizing his travel dreams. His exciting travel reports are published in many magazines around the world. On his travels, he is more interested in the experience than the journey. For him, being on the road always comes before athletic performance, and the end of his competitive career is far in the past. As a cycling technique trainer and tour guide, he travels around the globe. Gerhard prefers to be on his bike rather than in his car or in the office. As well as cycling, the nature lover also does a lot of mountaineering. His experience in both areas is what makes many of his bike expeditions possible in the first place.
