The trio around Gismo Graf, once celebrated as the shooting star of gypsy jazz, who has meanwhile outgrown his
child prodigy status and is considered one of the leading and most innovative gypsy jazz guitarists
together with his father Joschi Graf and the double bass player
Joel Locher, in short - the Gismo Graf Trio - presents its 15th anniversary program.
"In Spirito Django" - the name says it all. However, the trio is associated with Django
Reinhardt's most famous classics, a unique and exciting mixture of original compositions
own compositions, pop, classical and even rock songs in a gypsy jazz guise. The result is - at first glance
seemingly random pieces by Sting, Michael Jackson or even piano concertos by Frederic Chopin.
piano concertos by Frederic Chopin and film music from the Walt Disney films create such a fitting
mixture, as if they could actually have come from the pen of a Django Reinhardt. Combined
with the razor-sharp humor of the three musicians on stage, the result is a unique and entertaining
entertaining program that catapults gypsy jazz directly into the year 2025. As special guests
the three have Gismo's younger sister Cheyenne with them on some pieces, who with her warm
jazz voice expands the trio into a quartet.
