In the artist's words:

Demis Volpi has been the new artistic director of the Hamburg Ballet since the 2024/25 season, succeeding John Neumeier, who shaped the company for over 50 years and led it to world fame. The company can look back on well over 1,000 guest performances on five continents. Volpi, previously director of the Ballett am Rhein, brings fresh impetus, new perspectives and focuses on a diverse repertoire. At the same time, he wants to preserve Neumeier's legacy and make dance more accessible through new mediation formats.
