Hans Kotter, *1966 Mühldorf am Inn, lives in Berlin

Hans Kotter is a light artist. In this sense, he deals with the properties of light: light is movement, space and color.

His works are characterized by their perfection, industrial austerity, supposed clarity and reduced materiality and can be clearly assigned to Minimal Art. However, through the sophisticated and meticulously planned play of colors, the suggestive lighting mood and the fascinating movement patterns, he also combines great emotional appeal with formal austerity. These contrasts - beauty and functionality - lend his work an exciting dynamic.
