Helena Weber

In the artist's words:

Helena Weber studied history with a focus on the history of media and photography, as well as Western Slavic and English studies at the Universities of Cologne and Krakow. She worked as a research assistant in the Department of Theory and History of Photography at the University of Cologne and was involved in several research and digitization projects of photo-historical materials. As a curator, she conceived photo-historical and media-historical exhibitions at the Leipzig and Dresden City Museums and most recently at the Haus der Geschichte in Bonn. From 2022, she was in charge of the Artist Meets Archive program for the International Photoscene Cologne, which she took over in 2023. Since 2024, she has worked as a scientific documentalist at the Historical Archive with the Rhenish Image Archive and took over the management of the Rhenish Image Archive in January 2025.
