Jan Malte Andresen has been one of the most influential voices in German radio and television journalism for over three decades. Born in Baden-Baden in 1972, he found his way to the microphone at an early age and started at the regional station Radio Merkur Mittelbadenwelle in 1990. From there, his path led him via Welle Fidelitas in Karlsruhe to delta radio in Kiel - a first step towards the North German radio landscape in which he would later become a permanent fixture.

With the launch of 1LIVE in 1995, Andresen was part of the founding team of the WDR youth radio station and at the same time moved to NDR 2, where he developed into the unmistakable "Voice of the North" over the course of more than ten years. After working as a news anchor on NDR television and EinsExtra, he founded the podcast company earpaper together with Anouk Schollähn in 2006, which broke new ground in audio journalism with award-winning formats.

His presenting career then took him to WDR 2, NDR 1 Welle Nord and later back to WDR, where he shaped the morning show and became part of the presenting team for the WDR 2 Christmas miracle. In the meantime, he was also a presenter at tagesschau24 and Tagesschau as well as co-presenter of Schleswig-Holstein Magazin. Since January 2024, he has been part of the presenting crew of RTL morning formats Punkt 6, Punkt 7 and Punkt 8.
