Project 2025: Jazz meets Hannover Baroque

The "JazzArt Niedersachsen" project series has been successfully combining modern jazz with other, non-musical art forms every two to three years since 2005. Three of the past projects were an exploration of chamber music ("Jazz meets Chamber Music"), an encounter between three neighboring European regions ("Heimatklänge") and a fusion with sacred vocal music ("Jazz goes Church Music"). In "In Wahrheit Jazz", texts of German poetry were recently used, recited in declamatory style and interwoven and set to music with new compositions. The JazzArt Niedersachsen Ensemble is reassembled for each project under the artistic direction of Ulli Orth. One of the main aims of the projects is to enrich the jazz scene in Lower Saxony with innovative and unusual crossover concepts at the highest musical level. The results are always unique and cannot be realized in the usual music business without funding, but they provide important impulses for music organizers and musicians throughout the state.
