Singer-songwriter JOHN RIOT lives up to his name. "Riot" stands for rebellion - his music gives the queer community a strong voice. JOHN uses it to campaign for more acceptance and tolerance. His unmistakable sound combines melancholic lyrics, a clear and soft voice and pure pop club beats with a hint of the 80s. The Berliner has created a unique musical identity that will be impossible to ignore.

The Berliner-by-choice became known through the 6th season of The Voice of Germany. Since then, he has been able to build up a considerable reach on social media. He has over 100,000 followers on Instagram and co. His first single "Lover" was produced by Kraans de Lutin (Lea, R3hab, Culcha Candela, Sido). His current single "Only Love", feat. Rebecca Helena, already had over 10,000 streams in the first week after its release in November.

Activism is at the heart of JOHN RIOT'sethos. Born in Frankfurt, he started his career on YouTube, where he used his platform early on to draw attention to problems and issues in the LGBTQIA+ community. As the movement for marriage for all gained momentum, John positioned himself with his own social media campaign "#mypride", accompanied by the release of the song of the same name. He also gave well-known brands a campaign face. All to promote PRIDE again and again.

But JOHN RIOT'scentral vocation is the artistic, the pop culture. His music is a canvas painted with his own often painful and traumatizing experiences. The themes explored in his songs are profound, often in stark contrast to the pulsating, danceable beats that accompany them. This juxtaposition serves as a powerful message to listeners - that you can dance and cry in the club at the same time, a reflection of the complex emotional web of life. John wants to inspire others to emerge stronger from their own traumas and forge a positive force out of adversity. In May 2025, he will embark on his eponymous debut tour of Germany with his EP "BoysClub".
