In the artist's words:

The junge kammerchor düsseldorf is a vocal ensemble of around 30 singers aged between 18 and their mid-thirties from the greater Düsseldorf area. The young singers use innovative concert formats to make contemporary vocal music accessible to a wide audience. In collaboration with young composers and artists from the region, performance formats are created in which world premieres and well-known classical works are embedded in an overall concept using design elements such as acting, lighting and interaction. Social moods and themes are often addressed in the concerts. Jean-Philippe Apel has been the artistic director of the choir since October 2023.
