The JPON is a young orchestra with musicians from very different backgrounds. It thrives on its diversity, in which aspiring professionals and music-loving amateurs from Lower Saxony, the whole of Germany and beyond pursue the common goal of bringing great symphonic works to the stage. Founded in 1989, the orchestra has always been organized on an honorary basis and thrives on the voluntary commitment of its members. In addition to the intensive rehearsals and concerts at a professional level, there is also time to cultivate old friendships and make new contacts. This has created the unique "JPON spirit" that has shaped the orchestral landscape in Lower Saxony for years.

What makes the JPON special is the opportunity for encounters and experiences that you would otherwise miss out on. It offers amateurs the chance to make music at a high level with budding professionals, while giving them the opportunity to develop further. They get the chance to perform great works and to challenge themselves, for example by taking on positions such as voice leading or concertmaster.

Musical and human interaction is particularly important to us! We provide space for development without pressure, in which the JPON players feel exceptionally comfortable. The joy of music always takes center stage. We want to encourage and challenge, support and cheer each other on.
