Jürgen Paas, *1958 in Krefeld, lives in Essen

Jürgen Paas works abstractly. He uses industrially manufactured materials such as PVC tapes and MDF boards, which he misappropriates and uses with perfect craftsmanship. He experiments with the specific properties of the materials beyond functionality and places the aesthetic component in the foreground. In this process of enhancement, he makes lavish use of color. In his minimalist work, he always works in a dual role as painter and sculptor.
